You need to decide what type of property you would like to purchase and in what area would you like to live in.
Make a checklist of your priorities including:
- Price
- Area
- Local transport links needed, distance to work
- Quality of Schooling
- Number of bedrooms
- Parking
- Garden size
- What’s going on in the local community
- Amenities
- Amount of decoration/restoration your prepared to put up with
- Location, Location, Location- have a walk around the neighbourhood your thinking of settling in.
Once you have taken all these factors into consideration you are now ready to get on with the exciting bit.
Organise your priorities and requirements of the property that you want to buy. Categorise must haves, preferences and no ways. This will save time wasting when registering with Estate Agents so that you are not given unsuitable properties to look at.
Now you can register personally and online with a few estate agents in the area that you want to buy. It is always good to meet with the agents in person as this will help establish a relationship that will be beneficial when being informed about new instructions. This may give you a strong advantage in this competitive market.
Arrange your viewing's and remember to give yourself enough time to look at each property. |
